Post Do you think they really work?

I have seen numerous "fuel system cleaners" in walmart lately. I used only 2, first i tried Bardahls(I think thats how you spell it) All-U-Need total system cleaner. Claims it cleans everything, intake chambers, cyl heady and exhaust components. I honestly noticed VERY if no difference in performance. If anything my EGR valve stopped rattling. NO BIG DEAL AND A WASTE OF MY MONEY. Today I purchased STP Complete fuel sys cleaner. Ive used STP before and I have notices a slight increase in power, not alot, but some. I used the injector cleaner regularly(all but the last 4 tanks, oops) and it seemed to help. I am going to wait to put the stuff I just bought in, maybe another 2 tanks. When I forst tried these cleaners, I did not have it set in my mind that either would work, I was very doubtfull, i had an open mind. I was quite suprised when the STP worked. I am not imagineing it. Im not saying it was an astronomical increase, but there was a little. So what are your experiences with this stuff, does anyone think it works?

Sure it may help... if you use it every tank
Prob keeps it from building up
Or if you use it once every 6 months for a few thanks it should help
But if you use it like once a year, you'll prob never notice a difference

The only stuff that I use that actually works is Seafoam. Pour a little in the crankcase and the rest in the tank and you are good to go.

There were several lawsuits made against the makers of Duralube, and Slick 50. The Federal Trade Commision said that they don't work.

ive had the best luck with sea foam, it seems to work specially in the older motors, i also tried a whole bottle in my motorcycle and i could actually tell how much better it ran i guess the 5 bucks you pay for sea foam is worth it, i have never tried any others besides maybe octane booster whick i dunno if it really helps or not.

Thats what i was thinking, once every 6 mths, which is about how long its been since i used that other stuff. Ive read stuff bout Slick 50, thats why i use STP. None of that teflon crap or other stuff in it. Amazing they can get away with that stuff if it really hurts instead of helps your engine. I actualy conisdered buying Slick 50 some time ago, thank god i found this site first!!

I like Seafoam also. I always add some to the gas for my lawn equipment and it keeps the combustion chambers nice and clean.

Ive seen sea foam, what does it do? does it go in the oil? I already put that Restore engine treatment in my oil last change. Hard to tell of it worked, but my engine started knocking after i put it in. Clogged oil passageway maybe?

I think seafoam is a pretty good product. there are many uses for it. clean your crankcase, clean your carb./fuel injectors, dries oil and fuel, de-icer/anti gel, fuel stabilizer. I have used it for pretty much all the uses listed here and have had very good results with it.
