Hello, I recently did a cab swap: I put a 1983 f150 XLT auto 2wd cab and box onto a 1986 f250 4x4 6.9 IDI with 4 on the floor.
I swapped the wiring harness but the fuel tank switch connector and wires seems to be missing ... Back of the climate control (where the fuel tank selector is) should have a 5 pin connector that plugs in there. I can find none that will fit, the connector on the opposite of climate control fits but wrong wires, that's the fan control. I'm not sure if it was there before the swap, or if the previous owner cut those wires for some reason. Most everything else fell into place as I swapped the wiring harness into the '83 cab as it went onto the '86 chassis. I want to be able to switch my tanks but cannot for the life of me find the connector.
What I want to know is what colour are the wires for the fuel tank selector pins 1 & 2? I would like to wire in a custom switch to make it work, tired of Ford's stock wiring. It's junk. Horn through the speed control, (why not just a simple push button?! Lol) fuel tank selector through the climate control, high beam switches burn out... Lol.

Has anyone wired in a custom switch? It will be my 8th switch wired in... Lol no key so high idle switch, fuel shut off, fuel pump switch, glow plug relay switch, light bar, horn, push button starter.. starting to look like an airplane cockpit!
