I have a 03 f250 CC 7.3 psd that has a wind noise at 50 to 70 mph. The dealer has looked at it 3 times. The noise is by the drivers window door area. They cannot seem to make it do the noise for them. Do ya'll have any ideas?
'02 F-250 SD CC 5.4L gasser: sounds like the back door on the passenger's side isn't closed all the way. Even tho I know it's closed all the way, I still look back at it while I'm driving to see if the doors closed! Doh!
I look at it as one of those precious little nuances that make my truck my truck!
But at least you guys/gals know you're not alone. Hey, BTW, didn't Ford used to be notorious for "the Ford rattle"? Consider it an improvement; no it's just wind noise!
You guys want to hear wind noise? Drive my brothers chebby! Actually, I have to give Dodge the blue ribbon on this one. As far as wind noise, my Dodge was the quietest of the big three. Unfortuneately, that was the only good thing about the truck.
I have noticed wind noise in my truck and I have the v10. I have noticed it seems to change with wind direction and speed. I believe it is the way the air flows past the mirror. I folded the drivers mirror in an it decreased the wind noise.
the wind noise turned out to be the drivers side mirror. the dealer installed a new mirror and that took care of the problem. my 2003 7.3 4x4 now has 28000 on it with no other problems.
