My 97 F150 has a tap on cold starts ,too. It does go away after the engine warms up. A couple of friends of mine said it may be a lifter problem. My truck still runs great, I just don't like the tapping. I will try some of the Lucas oil treatment to see if that helps. Thanks for the info.
