keyless entry?
bought a 98 f-150. it has just about every option except for keyless entry. asked the dealer and they didnt have the remote. called a ford dealer and i guess you cant find out from looking at the vin. any body know what to look for and if it does have it, how do i go about getting a remote programmed to unlock my truck?

My '99 didn't have it either. I happened to have a friend that used to install alarms at various dealerships in Ca. He told me that he could not find anything on the truck for keyless entry. I got one from JCWhitney and had him install it. Works great! I guess my suggestion would be to have an automotive alarm guru check it out since your dealership couldn't help.

If it has Keyless entry it will have a RAP module mounted under the dash on the driver side firewall. Its a yellowish colored module with a couple multiwired connectors on it. If it is there all they need is a remote and cycle the ignition about 5 times until the locks cycle up and down with the key in the on position, hit the lock button on the remote and the locks will cycle and turn the key to the off position. Otherwise you have relay controlled power door locks and must install an aftermarket keyless system, or Ford dealer installed, which are possibly no longer avaliable for a 98.
