Engine craddle

Can I use a engine cradle/cross member from a truck that had a 460 in for my truck that has a 351?
1992 f150 4x4 351w extended cab
The part where it attaches to the rest of the frame cracked and theres about a 4 to 5 inch gap. I know welding a option would prefere to just replace it and theres one near me that's cheap. Thanks for your help

The 460 frame "cradle" would have came from a f250 or f350, which is a different frame and different suspension than a f150. No crumple zone on the f250/f350 frame. I doubt they'd interchange. Try to find one from an f150.

It looks a little bigger in person. Pervous owner rolled the truck and cracked it right they welded it and the welds started to crack. Just didnt have time to fix it right away now when i turn right it somehow lifts my fan shourd or the fan to hit the shourd along with pushing my axel out i believe.

honestly it drove fine didn't even notice it only found the crack when i was checking for a power steering leak figured the noise from the fan hitting was the steering box or pump going out. Only thing out of ordinary was sometimes it would fill like the truck was trying to turn in both directions at once if that makes sense. Tire wear isn't even that uneven and it drove pretty straight for having done tie rods and ball joints with no alinement.

It looks like the crack is just in the beam pivot bracket. You can just replace that.

If the cross-member is cracked it's a bitch to replace but pretty straightforward. I would try pulling the cracked spot back into place and welding it first though.

Ended up welding it. Brother knew someone who dose structural welding i think? He did a good job. Found 3 more breaks when doing it tho
