So my son was opening his driver's side door of his 79 F-150 the other day and a gust of wind blew the door open. It must have been really strong because the door got all jacked up. We had reproduction doors on it because the original doors were beyond repair. Now we need to replace, at least, the driver side door. I need to find an original door. Looking for suggestions. We have a donor truck that sadly has doors in worse shape but it does have a lot of parts I could trade for a new door, including an inline 6 cylinder 300 that works great.
Since I mentioned trade, I added a listing in marketplace

Rust free doors are everywhere out west cheap. you might look on craigslist for one and see what shipping would cost. lots of large parts are shipped by bus.
What exactly is "jacked"? Is it the repop door where the hinges mount? The cab A pillar where the hinges mount. Or the hinges themselves are sprung? Or did the overall skin and frame get twisted?
I know on FB there is a guy in PA that has TONS of parts for sale. Check out the FB Public Group.
(73-79 Ford Truck) https://www.facebook.com/groups/1598090137117116/ FYI and AFAIK.... Greyhound no longer offers a package shipping service called "Greyhound Packages" or "Freight Mail". They discontinued this service in 2022. While they used to offer a way to ship larger items, sadly it's no longer available.

Big ouch there.
I too use aftermarket doors, but seriously they seem as good as OEM. My OEMs were badly rusted down low in the lower foot or so, I ended up cutting them to haul away. A buddy looking for some never came for them even though I said were free, as he said he found a better pair on a truck in a field near road side (plus a needed back glass), and struck a deal for them, paid the land owner too. After I had hauled mine off, he went to that field on a day off to get his doors, found someone else got them in the night. Sucks he had paid for them. He did get his back glass though.
Really just posted to say, you might include an area.

Yeah, that really ruined the feasibility of getting large auto parts from far flung places for a reasonable price. Darn shame.

I don't know if this will help, or if the guy ships, but there is a guy on Craig'slist who I have bought parts from. He guys and parts out bumps and dents. He is in Claremont, near San Diego, CA. Search dentside parts, San Diego and he pops up. Good luck.
Well I guess I need to learn to trust my instincts. Galllagha sold me a driver side door for my son's 79 150 for $140 including shipping. I questioned him about the cost of shipping and he assured me he could get it to me. So I paid. Mistake. Not only didn't he ship the door but he has refused to refund me my money. I would be cautious about doing business with him.
