I have searched and searched to no avail. What is "0" trans code? I'm looking at needing a trans for my 65 and a buddy is going to scrap a truck. If the trans would be better for me I'll go pull it out
For the 1972 model year "O" = New Process model 542-FL five speed direct.
"O" also works for Fuller model T905-B five speed direct, but I think that's in bigger trucks with larger diesel engines.
FWIW if he is scrapping check for:
--non-widowmaker wheels, especially tubeless or demountable tubeless (Dayton style wheel)
--brake drums
--two speed rear axles
I appreciate that. I hoped for an overdrive trans really. The two speed won't help me much as his gears are steeper than mine now. I'm looking to go the other way really. It's got Dayton's on it and I have 22.5s so no help there.
The Clark 282VO is practically a unicorn these days: they exist, but only in historical tomes
1965, that may pre-date the 28x series of transmissions. I think there was an overdrive version of the older series . . . right around the switch from Y-block to FT . . . but, again, many have looked and few have found.
But, you miss 100% of the swings you don't take . . .

Yea,and it being a very good buddy I could get it free if I went and pulled it. I may be messing up not getting it just because. I just don't have space to store it for no reason really .
No space to store is a really good reason to let it go. From a family of packrats . . . and I inherited (13) storage units of crap when my father died. He was spending more in two years' worth of fees than all that stuff was worth, and he'd had most of those storage units for decades.
