OBS Coolant Flow Diagram

Hello,

Is there a diagram or video or something of that sort showing the flow of the OBS coolant system?

Thanks

Found this. Not perfect but gives the basic flow path

Thanks!

That is definitely a good start.

I obviously do not know the coolant system very well or else I wouldn't be asking for diagrams or explanations that is probably common knowledge to most.

So is the bottom right connection at the water pump the suction from radiator?

The top connection at the pump looks like the thermostat directing flow coming from the engine block back to the radiator. Is this correct?

Where is the flow going that doesn't get directed back to radiator? Directly to the suction of the pump for another round of cooling?

What is the flow to and from the heater core?

Thank you.

I'm more curious on what your issue is and what you are trying to achieve? It seems there is a hidden agenda here in you trying to learn the flow path

Knowing how the system works will allow me to better understand the flow/routing of the Dieselsite water to air cooler I have.

I am very curious to see how that works out. I recently installed a super duty aluminum intercooler from a 7.3, very interested in seeing how everything works out.

I was hoping you were planning on installing a 6.7 air to water intercooler. I have one sitting on the bench but just haven't made the time to think much about it.

If folks do not have any better diagrams, I am more than happy to read a description of the flow path/s the coolant system takes.

Thanks.

water to air cooler will want fluid from bottom of RAD as its the coolest

Problem is that the fluid is not circulated much and you need a pump in line

1997 7.3L Coolant Hose Routing

Yes, please. I too have questions. Trying to reassemble my 1997 with 7.3L and auto trans.
The lower radiator hose has a 3/4” hole in a tee - I forgot where that goes.
The 5/8 heater hose from the passenger side head has a “tee”, I assume one side to the heater core and the other to the trans cooler “inlet?” or “outlet” on the bottom of the radiator. Then a 5/8” from the heater core to? And what goes to the reservoir?
Sorry, this is a frame off rebuild and I took it all apart a year ago. Photos that I took are not what I had hoped for.

Thanks!!

Need help with coolant hose routing

I could still use help with this if someone has a chance. That smaller “T” from the hose from the passenger side head, I assume goes to the lower radiator inlet? And that big hole in my lower radiator hose?

firewall and inner fenders are getting painted this morning. Cab is getting set back on the frame this afternoon. This hose issue is going to keep me scratching my head instead of starting this baby up!

Were you able to find more information on the flows of the coolant system?

Ok. So maybe to help this conversation I'll ask a couple of specific questions regarding the heater core.

Does the supply (warmer coolant) to the heater core come from the hose coming out of the front passenger side of the engine block?

Does the return (cooler coolant) from the heater core flow to the top part of the coolant pump?

Thanks
