What is a tune costing folks these days? I was quoted $900 and want to make sure I’m not getting bent over without a kiss. Guy who did the delete, says this will fix the occasional overboost issue as well. I’m just a stupid Paramedic and Firefighter, so, I’m putting my faith in this feller that he is giving me the correct details.

If it's deleted, it's tuned. Otherwise it wouldn't run. Now the question is what kind of tuning? Do you have a tuner/programmer? Does your delete guy know what tune he used?
Either way.... I (and numerous others) would recommend AMDP tuning with an AutoAgent EZ-Link3 tuner. Not cheap, but quality usually isn't.

this is a Tuner Depot Mini Max 2. I did not get any directions when I picked it up. So, I have zero clue about what settings need to be done.

I'm not familiar with that device, but I believe it's old tech.
The EZ-link works thru your smartphone. I bought the AMDP lifetime package and it came with numerous different tunes for the engine and transmission to suit different needs.
My last truck (2004 6.0L) used and SCT tuner and this new EZLink via smartphone is way better. Highly recommend.
I have a mini-max that I picked up back in 2018. There are a lot of different settings that can be tweaked but shouldn't be unless you know what you're adjusting. Yes, old tech. I guess best description for it would be an older bully-dog tuner that has been re-flashed with delete tunes. Mine offers stock, rv/towing, street and "stupid" (that's not the actual name for that setting, but it's what I call it)
When you're doing the initial flash to your truck there are a number of options to choose. I can't remember all the settings at this point, but from my recollection I tried tweaking a few from their "default" setting and ended up changing back to whatever the default recommendation was. I don't use the transmission tune at all. I keep it in stock mode since I only wanted it for the delete portion. I've tried all the "tunes" of course but worried about breaking something when I do.
If you are comfortable following on-screen instructions you can probably re-flash your truck and just stick to the default recommendation if it is similar to the version of mini-max I have. You might even be able find an owner's manual online for the mini-max tuner which explains most the different settings you can adjust.
All that said, unless there are some hard parts being replaced/removed I am not sure how they came up with $900 for an adjustment of tune settings and re-flash to the ecm. Maybe there is a $750 surcharge for breaking federal law?
