I have a 2000 f250 with no speedometer/odometer but I am stumped as to what it could be. No codes/lights and in forscan I can read the vss and all transmission speed sensors. I even took off the cluster and tested the grey/black vss wire at the c250b connector that goes into the cluster and I can measure the ac voltage go up and down while I’m driving. And I know it’s not the cluster because I bought a new rebuilt one and it still didn’t work.
This is what really stumped me: the only time the speedometer moved was in reverse and it would bounce up and down but now after I disconnected the rear vss and cleaned it it doesn’t move at all. How would that affect anything when I can read the vss accurately on forscan? After that I swapped the vss from another truck and still no speedo but can read on forscan.
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I’ve also checked grounds at the cluster and every ground point on the truck.
Update: issue has been resolved the abs module was not converting the signal from the vss correctly had to get new one and everything is smooth
