my '73 F-250 has shoulder belts, but they work just like the lap belts in that the shoulder strap is a fixed length, then you adjust the fit via the buckle, just like the lap belt, and they look pretty original.

My '76 is the same way, but the problem is that they are a ratchet style (top and bottom are seperate). So if you hit a bump and you sink into the seat a bit...they continue to get tighter and tighter. I'm always having to unbuckle...let them retract almost all the way, then pull them back and buckle.
My question: Didn't the 78-79 shoulder belts go with the modern day belt setup? That is one long shoulder belt with a loop at the top?
my '77 F100 had the current shoulder belt setup, or at least more modern. the drivers seat belt buckle had a wire to activate the annoying "ding-ding" when the truck was first started if the belt wasn't fastened.
