Have not got that far yet. I found the red wire that should be brake circuit feed from light switch not connected. I didn't see any wires above master cylinder but the wires are all taped up. I'll have my new taillights tomorrow.
The switch is only two wires. There must be a relay somewhere?
Sounds like a plan. You are on the right track with the red wire. My wires were all taped and spliced beyond understanding when I got the truck. It took the harnesses from three parts truck to get one that looks good and works correctly.

Yes, I have the manual. There is no relay. All switching happens in the turn signal switch assembly. There are about four different wiring diagrams to piece together to see how it works.
Thanks for this. Funny, I was following wires to my taillights and found the two wires going to the pressure switch on my hydrovac unit. I'm going to install my new taillights today and jumper that switch and see if it activates the brake lights. Another complication I found is my front turn signals. My truck had single wire parking lights and fender mounted turn signals. I installed the donor cab front fenders. I have the two wire parking light housings from thr donor. Hopefully I can swap those out without dismantling the front of truck. I don't want to mount turn signals on my fenders. As a last resort, maybe on brush guard.
Not that I am aware of. The picture at the top right corner shows the stop light circuit. This is from the shop manual.
The square that shows the 7.5 amp fuse is part of light switch? It isn't identified but looks like it should be. My donor cab switch has two fuses, mine has only one for dome light instrument pabel dimmer.

So my pressure switch attached to the brake line near the hydrovac unit does activate my brake lights. And now the turn signals.
Well, I plugged my turn signal leads into my parking light leads so now I have front turn signals (although dim) but no parking lights. From what I read, CA requires parking lights if I am parked at night in an unlighted rural area. I think I'm done for now except for ordering a new dimmer switch.
