In my obsession with always having spare parts , do you know if a manual transmission with floor shifters for a 1961 F100 with a 223 ci engine is available in the United States, or is it impossible to find ?
It would be possible here in the US to find a used Warner T98A 4-speed manual floor shifted transmission for a 1961. Same transmission used through 1964. My 1964 came with the same Warner T98A.
The problem is finding one in good condition and then getting it shipped, I have to find a trusted professional.
Good morning Adeleandre, I went searching for you this morning and came across this thread and thought I would tag on to here to reach you. First, while I don't have a specific time line, I am planning to ship my '66 from Virginia in the United States, to Germany, I hope by the end of summer. That said, I too will be looking for parts and other items to ship with my truck to make sure I have all I need to enjoy the truck and also be able to make repairs. If when I am loading my truck into a container, there are other parts for you or anyone else on this forum who might need parts from the States, I would be happy to help out as the major cost will be from coast to coast.
Second, and the reason I was looking to contact you, is...My brother and his wife are going to be in France for a week the first week of June. They will be somewhere near Avignon in Provence. They mentioned coming in a few days earlier (they fly into Paris) and maybe taking the train to Cologne Germany which is near where I live, for a visit. However, I thought it might be nice to meet somewhere in between...say the North of France, Belgium, Luxemburg, or even a Southern Island in the Netherlands, for a change of view. My question for you, and please forgive my assuming you might have an opinion, is there any towns or locations North of Paris, closer to the boarder, that are destinations that might be of interest or special to native French? Someplace kid friendly, I have a 10 year old daughter, and a 13 year old son. I could load up bikes, light hiking is always great but I have two ruined knees, so major hiking is sadly off the agenda. Most Americans associate good food with the French, so cooking, and or cuisine is always a plus. And lastly, my wife is a teacher, I am a cabinet maker, so expensive resorts are probably not that practical for us... Anyway, I hope you don't mind my asking....sadly, you are one of the only contacts I can think of in France. :-) Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
I actually have a T-98 that I pulled out of my '64. The problem is that I don't have time to try and ship it any where. If you know anyone in the the southwest (Tucson), you can have it for free. It worked fine, but a previous owner had mismatched parts, to use a 390 in place of the 292, and the truck ate starter gears. It now has the proper parts for an FE engine and NP435 transmission.

I have two of them that I'd like to sell.. One came out of my '61 F250. It was working perfect. I'm in Seattle.
John and Pete, thank you for your suggestions. It's very nice, but I don't know anyone in the United States who can pick up and send packages. Apart from an import professional, I don't know how else to do it. I know one who has a warehouse in California, but he only handles the California-France trip and doesn't pick up the goods.
