Exclamation 2021 Explorer intermittent electrical Issues? (completely dies)

A co-worker has one that intermittently dies, have to pull over to side of road and hope it comes back around. No dash lights, or anything. Can reset battery to get it going again, but then will happen again. The dealer has addressed some sort of recall, (backup camera) and thoroughly tested the BCM, PCM, etc. and they are not finding any code being set, or anything at all to help. They bought this used just in the past 6 months or so. They are now ready to trade it in. Any leads on this issue? Thank you!!!

On my 2020, we just had the back up camera recall performed and we had the nagging issue with the SINC worked on yet again.

When the dealer was downloading a patch for SINC, the system blipped or internet blinked or some crap and then the car was dead as a door nail. Wouldn't even crank. It took them till the next day before they could get it running and the patch downloaded.

Yikes! Well everyone has thrown in the towel on this thing. Apparently after being driven for 20 min. or so, full operating temp, auto stop/start disabled, it made it though 3 stoplights, but on the 4th, they went to take off, and during the second gear upshift she just died again. POS.

Very dangerous and disheartening for sure. I think you should escalate this to Ford customer service.

Our 2023 explorer has been having minor electrical issues. I was looking at changing the battery and I noticed this connector right under the fill hole for the windshield wiper fluid. You can see in the pictures. Don’t know if it’s related or not. I am going to heat shrink it, just to be sure it’s not going to be an issue.

Ya, pretty poor design. I've noticed the same on my 2020. So since 2020 it's never been redesigned so maybe that means no issues.
