Doesn't surprise me.
Scooter repair guy stopped by to pick up the loaner. He also brought the mirrors and seat attachment for the new scooter. However, he needs a longer bolt, so he is going to Lowes to get one. Then my scooter will be able to be carried in the truck. Just in time too as the truck's appointment is set for Monday. Don't know if I will be able to get it out of gear or not, but at least I can take the scooter with me. I should just have it towed there with my free roadside assistance and then ride the scooter there when he says the truck is ready. That sounds like a better plan.
I am not too smart. My X, is from The Midwest and about as Midwestern as they come; down to the casserole dish with a packet of onion soup mix for seasoning. She talks a lot about cultural disparities. As if she knows about life in the ghetto, from growing up surrounded by Ana-Baptist in Ohio.
Allegedly, nutrition is a disparity. Marginalized communities don't have access to healthy food. I don't know what she wants me to do about it. Maybe I can go to a poor neighborhood, pick up a hooker, and take her out to dinner.
According to her, I have a privileged diet. All of which I pay for. Without the aide of any social programs. I think that people with free food and food stamps eat better than me. I think I would be healthier if I got free groceries from a program. The nutrition assistance people don't give out junk food. Then I could use food stamps to buy ribeye. I wouldn't have to eat cheap tri tip on sale. I definitely wouldn't have to eat leftovers everyday.
If you get SNAP, then you can buy rib eye with it. As far as I know, SNAP can be used for food without restriction. You could dine on lobster, caviar, Wagyu, or whatever. Of course, if you blow your monthly allowance on 1 meal, they won't give you more until the next month.
The downside is that if you qualify for SNAP, your income is low, and they don't really provide enough. $292 for 1 person. Just under $10 a day for food. I suppose you could make it stretch with rice, beans, and chicken. If you only buy the frozen chicken when it's on sale. You could learn to make your own bread with flour + water. You could get a food processor, and learn to make your own peanut butter, butter, Mayo, etc. I don't know how you would be able to afford vegetables.
In other News , it’s Raining again , I barely got the front yard and side yard mowed in the Sun somewhat dry grass , I guess I’ll need to wait for the next dry spell to mow the back yard and the deer hill .
I bought a new string trimmer. The old one works great. But I am finally stepping into the world of cordless electric. Kind of tired of running a long extension cord. Lithium battery. I didn't like the old power tools with the nickel metal batteries that didn't last and lacked power. Not excited. It's just more work on top of work. After cutting everything, I will have to clean up.
Rich people's problems. Poor people don't own property. Dad has to constantly remind me that I am lucky to have a yard. I guess I will harvest some onion greens, and have free produce.......

I get $23 a month in food stamps. So, I can eat ribeye once a month.
Wow! I used to work security for the Lucky warehouse in Buena Park back in the day. They owned Gemco at the time. However, they were bought out by another grocery store, I want to say Albertsons, but I can't remember. That is a great price for chicken!
Well, that is interesting. Never heard of two companies owning one brand name. Not very big if it is only in two states. SaveMart here is not exactly a budget grocery store. Or at least it wasn't about 10 years ago when it was the closest grocery store to my apartment.

You are right about Save Mart being a bit higher end price wise. Although I have noticed that the majority of the grocery stores up here are not inexpensive. Winco and Grocery Outlet. Have been more budget friendly.
