390 int. timing

390 int. timing
Would like to know if any body know's what it should be.The VECI lable is gone from valve covers.I have one, a '73 Highboy, and my brother has one too, a '75 Highboy. Also has anybody put 4x4 front spring shackles on a 2x4 frame. if so is it hard. If nobody really knows what it is,what do you guy's with 390's have your's set at.

Elmo,
I believe the timing setting for a stock engine is 6* BTDC. This is with the vacuum advance line disconnected and plugged. If you have any performance conponents i would start at 6* and go higher. My truck seems to like 15* initial.
