2 interesting tidbits
all cylinders were between 10.5-12.5 percent leak down with the majority of the leakage going past the rings and out the crankcase / PCV opening. The only odd cylinder was #2 at 24 percent.
I have the timing set at 12 degrees. I recently rebuilt the YFA single barrel carb. To get the hieght vacuum and good idle I have to open the air/fuel multiple turns. With the curb idle screw almost backed all the way out it idles right at 720-40. Its runs and idles smooth and I could probably stand a nickel on end and it would stay. I just didn’t think that little one barrel would want that much air at idle….or maybe there isn’t enough fuel?
the engine has 17in vacuum at idle and a steady needle. I can see a slight rhythmic dip (maybe 1/2 in vacuum) at idle which is probably the #2 cylinder.
I am at almost 5,000 above sea level.
