I definitely think there is corporate welfare. If a company is owned by a woman or a minority, it gets special breaks all the time. Also, companies that do work for the government are required to subcontract part of the job to a minority owned company.

So you automatically associate welfare with minorities?

No, but when a company is guaranteed jobs and grants and the like, based on nothing but they fact that its owned by a minority. That's why I consider it welfare.

your initial reaction says a lot about you.
corporate welfare is a reference to subsidies and some tax breaks.
my opinion: if they have the money to have that kind of influence with teh government, they should get it AND be watched by regulators. (usually only the first happens and the second only in face)

Are you saying minority owned companies don't receive subsidies and tax breaks? And the only reason I focused on the minority issue is because that's really all I know about this subject, as I work for a minority owned company.
