Any recommendations on where to ge the timing chain from? Parts geek and freedom racing have decent prices on kits but I’m curious if anyone has any recommendations or if they have used them from either.

are you asking about the kits for a f150 with a 3.5 ecoboost? i would use rock auto and either the melling or cloyes full kits ,yes pricy , but the safest way to do that major job,

Are you still looking for the parts for this? We do have better pricing than pretty much everyone and very fast shipping.
You're thinking of the idler gear. The water pump is on the outside. The idler gear is not the water pump, that's where it would be for the Taurus SHO.
For some odd reason people think just because it's a certain engine (3.5) in this case, must be the same no matter what you stuff one into when it couldn't be further from the truth.
@tiredmec They internalized the water pump on the front wheel drives due to space constraints. That pulley you refer to as a water pump is just an idler. Pump on the truck engine is as shown below.
This pic shows the timing gear that you mistakenly thought was a pump, it's just a gear. #13
Ford does indeed call it a "pump assy" and the engines are most definitely different between front drive and rear drive vehicles. I walked out and took a photo of the internal "pump assy" for reference.

Just like Ford to call it something it isn't. Blows my mind to this day where they get some of their terminology from. They also call motor mounts "insulators" Which no one in their right (mechanical) mind would think of to call it except an engineer, (they've never had right minds) lol., if they had right minds, they would at least call them "engine supports".
