97 expy no 4wd...need help
i just bought a 97 expy and went to use my 4wd and all that happened was the A4wd light would flash and when i tried 4H and 4L no lights or anything would come on and worst of all no 4 wheel drive. any ideas on the problem would be helpfull.

Could be a number of things.... It could be the switch itself. It could possibly be the shift motor on the transfer case, it could be a blown fuse. The A4WD system works independently from the 4WD system. The 4WD system actually shifts the transfer case via a motor on the transfer case, it then sends power to the front differential. The A4WD is electronicaly controlled. It senses when the rear wheels lose traction, then sends more power to the front wheels to compensate for the loss. It runs off speed sensors located in the rear of the transfer case and speed sensors in the front of the transfer case. Hope this helps!
