SRW-DRW

I have a 2013 F-350 it’s a 4x4 SRW I tow a good bit and while I’m worried about my weight rating I am worried about tire blowout why I’m pulling my gooseneck or camper I know there are bolt on SRW to DRW kits but would converting to a DRW with an adapter help if I blowout a tire and any links would be appreciated

If you're worried about a tire blowout, I'd get better tires and inspect them often.

By 'tow a good bit,' what do you mean? Are you consistently over payload/axle ratings? What's the loaded pin weight on your camper? What are you loading on your gooseneck, and are you making sure to distribute the weight?

Chances are if you've got good tires in good shape, you're not going to have issues. As long as you're staying inside the rated capabilities of the truck, you should be fine.

That said, if you want a dually...I'd just go buy a dually and sell your current truck. Often when a dual blows, the other sees at least a LITTLE damage, enough that it needs to be inspected carefully before being put back into service.

I'm far more worried about having a steering tire blowout.

Buy a DRW axle in the same ratio as what you have now, swap it under and go. If you want only 1 spare you need the front wheel spacer hubs too. Probably can convert for under 400 with wheels and tires after you sell your SRW axle and wheels/tires.

No doubt a dually feels more stabile when towing. I don't tow a lot of weight, but my trailer is typically near 9-10k lbs. Towing between my trucks is night and day difference. I pick the 450 every time unless I literally can't use that truck.

With that said, it will be worth your time to scale the truck and trailer combos to see exactly what is on each axle / tire. You then want to compare those weights with the rated axle weights and tire capacity. You may find that duals aren't needed, but a weight distributing hitch is.
