Intake, exhaust, bigger injectors, chip, gears, torque converter (if you have a automatic). If you don't mind getting into the engine, then you can do a cam, head work the list goes on. I've found it's hard to find cheap effective mods for the 300. It's such a great engine as it is but it's got virtually no aftermarket. I've heard that there are even supercharger packages for them

All the usual additions apply to the inline as the v6/8. As fordtruckin mentioned your just limited, as far as, intake. There are no intakes available, unless you want an aftermarket tbi unit or mpfi unit from clifford that will cost ya $$$$$$. You can raise the compression by milling the heads, good because your able to use any piston that you find cost effective, given the clearance between the valves and piston seem to work out. There are a few cams offered from any major supplier even paw performance has a few options (more likely than not copies of the others). Porting the heads as fordtruckin mentioned is good. Might wanna source a dyno have the motor, once build, tuned to perfection and do some math before you slap injectors on there, just to be sure your using the right ones. YOu can use 240 rods and certain v8 stroker pistons should you want to make a long rod engine, there is a stroker crank available if you don't mind paying $1000 for it. I went down this road and the gains per dollar led me to the 351w I have know, Thats me though. The cheapest or most cost effective way to get hp and tq would be to go carbed then your world has just been opened, and there have been many that have gone that path and can show you how much hp and tq you could have. Well I wish you luck with your 300 engine build. later

JWtaylor, did you used to post on the Clifford forums? I remember asking the same question as this guy except on that forum and getting a very similar response about two years ago.

I used to frequent the site under the name "jtaylor", haha. Big transition in usernames, huh? What was your username? Yeah at one time I wanted nothing more than to build up the six, and trust me I looked on every inline site available, still do just to see what is new. I even called clifford and questioned them about every aspect, and I went and got a 351w truck and rebuilt it, go figure. later

I can't remember, it's been a few years but I think it was something like "fordman" or something like that.

I was fordman on a few sites....and no, I did not build it. It's got KN and a catback and that's about as far as I want to go. It's a great engine, and it's reliable. Hasn't let me down yet!

well, I did get, as far as, k&n filter (only because it was $10 or so more than the paper one, I figured why not), put dual exhaust and dual clifford headers, and put an electric fan on it. I thought it actually made a difference, slight but a difference at that. I agree the inline is dependable, and strong little motor. later
