replace std dome light with map light

Hello folks. I'd like to replace my broken dome light with a dome / map light combination. I can see there are differences in mounting and wiring between the 2 and would like to know if anyone else has swapped up on interior lights? I have (want) to pull down the headliner to run an exterior light and replace the headliner as it has burn marks in it from the prior owner. So if there are folks out there that know what pcs I need to pick up or details from their swap I'd really appreciate it.
