Upper ball joint 97' Exp
I'm in need of some technical assistance in the removal of the driver side upper ball joint assembly. I've hit a snag. The lateral pivot bolts that should (according to all the instruction forms I've seen) be removed, have bottomed out against the shock tower. I've measured the travel, and they're barely half way out. To make it even more exiting, I'm not sure exactly how one is supposed to clear the camber plates on the bolt head past the hard fuel and brake lines. I'd like to meet this engineering genius. I really enjoyed the grounding bolt/wire stuck in the frame right in front of the aft pivot bolt. After spending the last three wet cold evenings working on this thing outside (all lowers, uppers and shocks), please help me get it off the blocks. Also does anyone know if you have to add an eccentric camber plate kit to these things to be able to get a wheel alignment done? Or is this mechanic just blowing smoke up my a$$. Thank you in advance for the tips.
