I just got some square tubing 4x3 and had the one side cut out with a plasma cutter. I made a new crossmember out of some C channel we had. Clamped it straight and ran a bead around the whole edge with an arc welder. The original bumpers never had a hitch and I probally won't pull anything. If I did I'd get a hidden hitch and have were it mounts reinforced to the original part of the frame.

Great name! That way if you ever get a 1/2-ton, then you can name it Popeye or Olivoil. Good luck, John
