Question on instrument cluster

Okay guys. I have 395,000 on my truck and the right side of the instrument panel lights are out. I cannot see how fast I am going after dark and I have decided to buy a new instrument cluster from Circuit Board Medics with the LED lights and just have a local shop swap it out. I had the motor rebuilt about 2 1/2 years ago and it had 317,000 miles when it swallowed a valve or something. Since I have about 75,000-80,000 miles on the new motor, how many hours should I have them program the new instrument cluster for? 2500, 1500 what do you think?

Thanks in advance.

You know the instrument cluster has replaceable bulbs right?

Seems a little extreme to buy a new cluster for that reason, but to each their own.

As far as the engine hours go there really isn't any way to know for sure. The engine hours are based on several things like your average speed and time spent idling.

There's some online calculators your can play around with but I think Ford recommends to use 25 mph so 75,000 miles would be 3000 hours

Thank you. I'll go with that. The places I drive, especially at night are in the country and I think the LED lights would help me.

I'm saying you should be able to purchase the LED bulbs and swap them into your existing instrument cluster. No need to replace the entire unit if everything else is working fine except the lights.

Well, I took the quick way out and bought the instrument cluster from Circuit Board Medics. Worth every penny. Now, when I am headed out early, I am able to see the entire dashboard. IT is so nice to be able to see my speed and everything. Thanks for the input guys!!
