1973 f600 vin decode

This 78 f600 has been in the family for as long as I know. We used it a lot up until a few years ago I’m tossing the idea around about trying to buy it from my grandpa but would like to get some more information about it. I’ve searched around and figured out it has a 330 2v hd FT motor and was built in the Kentucky truck plant. Here is a picture of the warranty plate. Thank you for any help.

Welcome to FTE!

I moved you here as this is the forum for your size truck.

F61 = F600 gas, 4x2

D = 330 2V HD "XD" FT gas V8

V = Kentucky Truck Plant

S01596 This is not a 1978 serial number. ('78 was AA or AE to CJ or Ck) It falls into the 1973 numerical series. Can you double check the title?

S01596 = 1973 numerical series, June 1973 production

158 = 158 inch wheelbase

M = White

F613 = Another contradiction. For MY '73: F600 gas, 4x2, 23,000 lbs GVWR. But your truck is 22,000 lbs GVWR, as seen in MY '74 and later. Late production change over perhaps

4 B
4 = Black Vinyl
B = Standard Cab, cab and chassis vehicle

O = New Process model NP-542-FL five speed direct transmission

E3L
E3 = Eaton model 16244 two speed rear axle, 17,500 lbs capacity, 6.50 / 9.04 ratios
L = Ford 6,000 lb capacity front axle with power steering

22000 = 22,000 lbs GVWR

232500
23 = Memphis District Sales Office
2500 = Special Order Number

The usual suspects for special order are color and drivetrain. Your color, engine, axles and trans are all listed, so the special order may have been something else or "maybe" just to get a truck configured this way.

Is it a runner? What would you use it for?

Thank you and I more than likely just got the years mixed up. We have 7-8 trucks from 70-78 so I probably just mixed up the years. I’m also going to say the truck was repainted at some point because it’s definitely not white. It’s a weird green.
