2000 7.3 vs 2012 6.7

I need some opinions on which truck is a better choice. I currently own a 2000 7.3L with 506,000 miles on it. It has been well maintained and doesn't have any obvious problems. I only use it occasionally for home depot trips and 10 or so camping trips pulling a smaller travel trailer. I have the opportunity to buy my current employers 2012 6.7L that has 260,000 miles on it for $9,500. I believe I could sell my 7.3L for about $6,500. Just looking for reasons to or not to buy the 6.7L. Thanks!

Performance aside I don’t like buying trucks from bosses or employees. There are thousands of trucks out there so why make a good situation possibly worse? Personally I’d keep the 7.3, they just run like tanks, if you’re worried about your high mileage then save for a new engine. Just my nickel

while we have 5 6.7 powered trucks from 2012 to 2024, i will second keeping the 2000 7.3. simpler to work on cheaper to work on, and much more dependable.

7.3L all the way

I think definitley the 7.3 wins as far as working on it goes.
nothing against the 6.7 but ya just can't beat the simplicity stamina of the good ole 7.3.

Definitely keep the 7.3, you will 100% regret giving it away at some point in the future. I wouldn't take less than $20k for your 2000 if the interior is still good and not trashed like 90% of these out there, the market has no idea how to price these trucks at this point so any blue book or whatever is false due to diesel hatred in the light duty auto industry.
