Hazard Lights (flashers) - $50 solution
Just a thing I've found about painting the housing/reflector. I've used chrome tape, silver, "aluminum" and "chrome" paints, and probably a few other things I've forgotten. But for me at least, the best coating to give an even reflective light coming through the lens, is a plain old bright white. Basically a refreshed version of what you found in yours.
If you can find a white paint with a high percentage of titanium dioxide (I think that's the actual white pigment in paint), it's most reflective and that's worked best. And in reverse of what you'd expect intuitively, a matte finish is often better than a satin or gloss finish. In fact, matte white is what Ford used to spritz into the old metal reflectors.
They saved a lot of money by not covering the entire reflector in some cases, but coating the whole thing like you did seems to work best. Yours look to have been almost fully covered from Ford. Just long since faded out and worn down. My '71 was just a couple of spots around the bulb.
Great to see the flasher kits. Glad you got yours retrofitted. Was always happy that my Bronco already had them from the factory. Kind of got spoiled with newer vehicles, so my old ones seemed lacking for not having 4-way emergency flashers.

Trucks typically got regulated items later than passenger cars, and I don’t think they were even mandatory on passenger cars until something like 68 or 69. And at that point, especially for trucks, many of them were add-ons that you found in a panel under the dash.
That big red plastic switch!
