Check out the project in work, but driveable. :-) See pics at the bottom of the page and follow the exhaust plans link if you have not already seen it.

She's coming along quite well. My first truck was a 71 1/2ton 2wheeler with a 390, loved it, still miss it.

I just ordered some exhaust cut-outs today to go with the other parts. I'll get the exhaust plumbed tomorrow or Friday.

My exhaust connection cam loose when I headed out today, and reminded me I want cut-outs. Something about that open exhaust sound :-)

A sad but somewhat humorous story: I had been at my parents earlier today. My mom is fighting cancer and is probably near the end of the battle and she's not winning. Anyway, I had come home and was emailing back and forth with my wife who is working in Dallas today. She made another comment about my $50K old truck (not quite there yet). A bit depressed, I replied that I was going out into the beautiful day in search of life.

Just a few short minutes later I was back at the computer. I sent my wife an email saying "I had just departed in my search for life when my exhaust fell off". Sometimes you just have to laugh.

That was a good one! I guess if you can laugh at adversity you're doing OK.

that 446 stroker engine looks pretty nice. I would like to have some edelbrock heads to but don't want to spend 1250 for them. You have a nice project going there. Maybe if you and scouder donated me some money i could get them heads.

Actually, you don't, trust me

A steady job, no change of address every 6 months, and you're ready for the wonderful world of plastic credit.

Nice truck!

Somewhat true! I'm lucky to be in the all to rare status we call DINKs (Double income and no kids). We are also both college grads with my wife recently starting as a big shot lawyer. So, the money is better than it's ever been.

Advice to you younger guys:

Marry a smart, ambitious woman that is good with money. It helps if she has many brothers. She will understand your manly ways a bit better. And most important, control your baby making tool :-) It's not rocket science!

And yet, that can be oh-so difficult. Thats why I always thought it was best to give dates a false name and address

I got the exhaust plumbed up today. It looks and sounds awesome. It ought to for what I've got invested in it. But, I finally did one the way I wanted to. Nice headers, H-Pipe, cut-outs, and a dual dual rolled chrome tip exits :-) The labor wasn't cheap, but as usual my exhaust guy did an incredible job. You could probably stand on these tips without breaking anything.

I could not wait, here are some pics:
