Ball joints should relax over time and start feeling sloppy again before you know it.
I talked to the shop/installer and he said the same thing.
in fact, I had started going through our little town slow, and making full Lock to Lock turns at each intersection... it seems to be a bit better, I will continue to exercise the lock to lock tours around town and hope it frees up.
I asked why they used Moog instead of Spicer, when they know that I always Pay for the Best there is.... I mentioned Moog is Chinese.
they told me so is Spicer, most folks just don't know it yet.
Plus, every time I take it in for service, they will grease the Moog ball joints, Spicer is sealed, no zerks.
and, IF a Moog ball joint fails, they will warranty it parts and labor, so for me, no issues with the "short lifetime" of Moog.
if I wanted to do that, I would drive the K1500 4x4 that is sitting next to it.
dumb dumb answer
So what's the issue? You own something with easy steering effort but you want to complicate every facet of your existence by driving something with heavier steering instead (and seem to always have some sort of drama with maintenance, improper repairs, what flavor-of-the-week oil, etc.) .
Seems like the no-brainer "dumb dumb answer" to me. But then again, I'm playing the game and responding so I'm not too smart to begin with.
I have the pressure regulator on order,
and didn't know where the darn thing is located on the power steering pump.
along the way, watching a bunch of YouTubers, I ran across this one, that suggests that you pour in a "tiny bit" of ArchOil AR9100 first, and give that a try.
