I've had trucks with Rhino, Line-X, and now OEM spray-in liners. There is nothing wrong with the OEM job. And I did not have to go to an installer, have them dick around with various bolts and attachments, and it works perfectly around the fifth wheel hitch sockets.
As far as holding up an ordered truck build, I suggest you follow the order status weekly report that one of the dealers does on Youtube. If something is currently in short supply, they will cover it. You might even hear about certain trim levels that Ford may be requesting orders for because they have excess capacity. Pays to be informed during the ordering process. And not just hearsay from a lot salesman.
I have been following the weekly status report. Generally speaking, aftermarket-type commodities seem to mostly stay limited or exhausted. I think depending on the difficulty associated with a particular build, as in trim, engine, etc. that may be a bit more challenging to get built it may be worth it to leave things like bed liner, cover, etc. off the order to increase the chance of getting built in a reasonable time.
My dealer gives me weekly if not a few times a week update on things. It’s certainly made the process easier for me.
I have the FORD liner from factory because it had it on the lot. When I installed the Real Truck Re Trax Pro XR I ran the drain tubes out through the grommet in the front wall of the bed and after drilling the hole for the tube the liner peeled off the plastic grommet. Thankfully it did not peel off the bed itself. I love the Re-Trax. Second one I have bouught first one was on 2023 Tremor F-150. Liked it so much it was the first thing I added to the F-350.
I concur, factory liner is not worth it. I dropped the 5th wheel which took out a chunk of liner. LineX would have just dented. In my 2024 I forego any liner and went with my trusted tried and true Bedrug. A LOT easier on the knees and holds up fantastically. I also have a hard Rollup cover to protect it from rain and snow.
