Geez, I've been looking through all the fourms and it seems like there sure is a lot of repeat questions going on lately. I know that i've probably asked stuff that has already been around before, but it seems like its especially bad lately, I think we need to really encourage people to utilize the "search" feature before posting. I guess that some people thing that they dont want to waste time searching, but if you think about the time it takes someone to respond you could have already know what you wanted to know.
Maybe you're seeing more simply because the search feature hasn't been up for a little while. With 40,000+ people on this website there are going to be situations like that I guess. But it looks like Ken and anyone else involved are setting up the search to work better. I know that I had trouble using the search, it just didnt work well. There were also problems with it where if you ask to search the author of the subject, it'll find stuff in the subject too. It just didn't work well so people asked questions. Now the search is back up and I believe it is running ok now. You're always going to have people who ask instead of search. Even i've messed up, a lot of people arn't here often enough to see that what they are asking is a common question. The most asked question i've seen are what company to get a lift kit from and what tires fit on what. People are lazy i guess. But before, if you searched for "skyjacker" you'd get any post with the word skyjacker in it. Thats a lot of posts to look through. Now that the search is working, you can single it out to just search subjects for "skyjacker" and reduce unwanted findings. I think you'll find that the number of repeated questions will go down soon, that new search setup works nice.
