manual hubs?

The lever hubs have a lock and a free postion.
ESOF don't have to be locked, you turn the **** in the cab and they automatically engage.
With the lever you have to manually lock the hubs
Hope this helps

Now Rich, you gonna start this whole ESOF debacle again?
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
I had an Exploder that that didn't always work in... so I got my SuperDuty with manual hubs and manual transfer case.
All levers here, no ESOF for me!

I leave my manual hubs locked in most of the winter. No problems at all and that way when I need 4-wheel drive I just pull the handle.
I've had both, all levers on my '84 F150 and all auto on my '92 F150.
After about 5 years, I started having problems with the ESOF stuff so opted for manual xfer and hubs on my '02 F250 (went with the auto tranny due to a little arthritis in my left knee).
IMHO, this is the way to go!

Also search on ESOF for the full range of opinions from those on this site - very informative stuff.
There is a rather vocal contigent on this site that recommend levers over ESOF and I'm afraid that I have to agree with them for the transfer case and hubs - I do like my auto trans though....
