Now I can see why I had trouble finding shops that were able to lift the truck in the past. Not the best areas to lift from. Not sure if its because its a CCLB, or just a Super Duty in general.
Just curious if there are any other points to lift from. Anyone that has experience with throw their truck up on a lift, where do you usually do it? Leaf spring mount in the rear and the radius arm in the front were really the only spots I could find.
FWIW Ford trucks are all tough to put on a lift. I've had a 2 post lift for over 25 years and Everything from Rangers on up can be a pain, like in the video it has to be in the exact perfect spot. I can't lift my 4 door 2wd drw Superduty, I'd need a ridiculously long adapter for the lift arms. I have no problem setting up GM duallys.

No kidding.
I've had my truck ten years now, and any time it did need work outside of my scope, I've always struggled to find a place that could do it because of the lift situation. It always aggravated me. Now I can see why a lot of places won't do it.
I guess this system works, but it did make me feel a bit uncomfortable. Not sure if its having the vehicle on the lift itself, or the truck. I was a tech 20 years ago and never thought of it. Guess now that I'm an old man, I'm not as naïve.
I plan to get at least two of the safety stand for my lift. I'm older, but wiser, so I'm looking at trying to make it as safe as possible. Probably will get four so I can put them under each "corner". Just in case.
Do you have a way to remove the truck if the lift "sticks" or breaks in the "up" position?
For me the tall oil drain bucket is a waste. I use a rolling table and put a 5 gal bucket on it with a wide drain adapter. Much easier to handle and one less thing around the shop taking up space. Tall stands are nice, I have 2 and one has the foot pedal that lifts it just a little is you're working with it can come in handy.
