Ignition Trouble HELP!

I have a 79' F-100, Every time I get my truck out to goto school sense its been cold out it will run good then quit, Just as if the someone turns off the key switch, then I'll coast and get off the road when I can..lol, well I can wait about 5 minutes and it will start right back up.. It acts like the ignition box on the driverside fender is bad.. But of the afternoons as I leave school it dosent show not one sign of that, runs just like a new one. Thats what I cant figure out. If it was that box wouldnt it do it all the time?

I would appericate anyone advice

Carb icing will do that. Do you have aproperly operating OEM air filter or an open aftermarket unit?

Ahhhhh, try the OEM unit

Ford put all that junk on there for a reason.

It never did that last winter thou? I have no EGR or nothing either. I took all of that off for the weekend races

Where I have headers now I dont think I could use my factory stuff could I? esp. where the factory air box had the heat tube running from the manifold to the air box, Thats what keeps that from icing over right?
