Shopping for covers and I think the Diamondback HD will work best for my use BUT I need racks (for kayaks) and would really like to be able to open the cover while the racks are loaded. The racks that Diamondback sells mount on top of the cover and prevent the cover from opening if anything is on the racks.
Does anyone have experience with KB VOODOO or TRUKD products? They both make racks that SHOULD work with the Diamondback.
The Retrax Pro XR has T-slots that you can mount a variety of accessories to and still open the bed cover. A friend of mine has that version of it which came from Ford when he ordered his truck. He loves it. You're going to pay a premium for that cover.
I like the idea of a retractable, and when combined with racks, it's actually less expensive than the Diamondback. Unfortunately it wouldn't work for me during the winter. My truck is outside 24/7/365 and the tracks, canister, and drain tubes would freeze solid.
The Diamond HD and rack will cost around $3,400 - $4,400 (depending on rack). I'm really hoping for some reassurance that it is worth the price, or more ideas for other cover/rack combos......
