Are special service messages covered by Ford/Dealer? I am currently enrolled in the Ford ESP purchased through Granger. I think i need the BSM update due to constant Deep Sleep Mode and the Ford pass app not responding as a result SSM 51140. Also ran into SSM 51330/ 50830 regarding a tapping noise forward lower engine. Apparently it can require an oil pump drive gear! Wtf! Ford should probably recalled this one! Anyhow... just asking
PS: if anyone has had experience with the above issues, can you please share your experience. Thanks
I would imagine that if you're experiencing issues that are described in SSM they would be covered under warranty. After warranty period....well out of warranty period.

the battery management update
Was pushed out via an OTA..
however if other modules had not been updated, it won't happen
you need to get dealer to run it
One way that covers you, if you have ESP
Is to complain about constant deep sleep amd battery ...they have to do the current charge and battery system test.. which requires the update...to complete the test
It's not just f150s and superduties..it's just about all ford's 22 and fwd
your dealer or service center can pull the data
The cracked oil pump drive gear making a tapping noise has been out for at least 2 years if not more. Ford doesn't know if your truck is experiencing it you have to hear the noise to think you have an issue. If you are hearing a tapping noise you should get to the dealer. It says in the warranty that you should contact a dealer within 30 days or something like that of a known issue or it can be denied. This would not be a warranty issue but most people hear something odd and contact their dealer. In a perfect world the dealer would see the bulletin about the cracked drive gear and follow the steps outlined by Ford.
