Couldn’t tell ya, I’m pretty new to the 7.3. I got this one not running, spent awhile fixing it and the engine seems to be good now. Well, at least for now.

ha, I have a MAP sensor, I’ve moved that hose around 100 times and always wondered what it was. I’ve never really looked at the sensor but the hose is hooked up.

Id assume it would throw a code if it were bad?

Calibration I set previously was 765 so I think I’m good there.

You only get 6 total calibration changes. When you hold reset and turn the key on the last number will be 1-6 that tells you how many you have left. Changing it when you are only a couple MPH off will burn one. I've changed tires sizes 3 times so I only have 3 left but I am done towing heavy with my truck so I'm going back to a 35 after these tires wear out and then I'll set it and forget it with only 2 calibrations left hopefully for the life of the truck.

Correct, It’s only been changed once. I feel since it’s 765, that’s not my issue.

that engine does not sound like it is running on all 8 cylinders.

Not burning or leaking oil, injectors all test out, no smoke. There’s a small exhaust leak…. Other than that, power wise seems fine.

could be wrong. Just got back from the pick a part looking for another PSOM, they didn’t have a 96/97. Did however find a zf42 and transfer case for 408 bucks.

I think I would have a hard time passing up a ZF5 and T-case for that price. Even just for parts.

My thoughts exactly. I was lazy though, had them pull it for 150, which is included in the 408.

Any of you guys think there might be a setting I could try to change the shifting? Not too worried about an accurate speedo.

You would need a tuner to change the shift points in the computer.

shift points in the trans are partially controlled by the speedometer, tachometer, and throttle position sensor. they all have to be in proper range for the trans to work properly.
