So I know there's a small boost leak from the uppipes waiting to have funds for RiffRaff set. My fuel mileage is garbage I also know winter blend can give MPGs a hit but I'm getting 10MPGA on q good day. Replaced fuel filter still no change. What could I be missing? Is the boost leak responsible?
How long does it sit and idle? Idling is effectively 0 MPG and is rarely factored into efficiency calculations.
Lots of people complain about crappy winter fuel economy and lots of people forget that they start their vehicles and let them run for 10+ minutes every morning before driving away.
Also, I wouldn't trust an aftermarket display for that calculation. The factory PCM doesn't have that data so however Edge programmed their device is going to affect that number.

I reset my tripometer everytime I fill up. I get about 400 miles out of both tanks. I know these can be off, but with the math its about right on. When its cold i let it run for about 15 20 minutes before driving off. When its warm I start it up let it run for about 5 10 minutes then take off. I kinda ignore the edge and just do the math myself. Just was for display demonstration purposes.
if i just get in and drive, i get 19 mpg in my 2021 V8 F150
if i let it warm up for 10 minutes like i am doing now when it is 9 degrees in the morning, i get 13 mpg.
the 88 and 02 diesels are the same way. jump in and go as soon as it starts and i see oil pressure, they average 14-15. let them idle for 10 minutes i see 10-11
4x4? Crew cab? D60 front axel? I have all these and I idle my truck for 5 minutes more or less. I get 14 hwy and 11ish around town. Terrible in my opinion and I was convinced something is wrong. Others get much better mileage for some reason. Whether I run a hot tune or stock setting my mileage doesn't change as long as I am easy on the accelerator.

yes and yes also same I'm running fuel sipper tune and it gets the same mileage as before.

Tuning makes ZERO difference in fuel economy.
It takes a specific amount of fuel to make a specific amount of power. It takes the same amount of power to idle no matter the tuning, it takes the same amount of power to accelerate at the same rate regardless of the tuning, and it takes the same amount of power to maintain a given speed regardless of tuning.
On my 95 I let it sit at high idle for 5 minutes more or less, and MPG takes a dive in cold weather, but have warm air out the defrost and feet settings. Just a small price to pay in the colder weather for my own comfort.
Mines a 97 CCLB w/ E4OD 4x4 on 4.10s… I swear I used to get 16-18 MPG with it back in 2013-14, before I tore it apart for the rebuild last fall it wasn’t much over 11-13.
now that engine was tired, so I know that plays a big part, but I’ve had other folks say the same thing… fuel mileage has gotten worse over time with their older trucks. That’s gotta be partly due to aging of the trucks but I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that the fuel has been modified to meet some emissions rule either.
