Computer Question

I have a 1995 F-150 302 4R70W 2wd and I had a sort of random question. For context, I am going to be 4x4 swapping the truck and it is going to be getting the push-button system (yes I am aware it is highly disliked, I’ve never had bad experience with it and my donor system was perfectly functioning). I have a donor front axle and 1995 4R70W transmission with the electric transfer case, as well as the computer and harness and module and everything. My question is, from what I’ve noticed, the computers out of trucks with push-button 4x4 have a different case than the regular computers, is there a reason for this and does it matter? I was hoping to install the Jet Performance chip in my truck as well to give it a little more get up and go, but because of the different computer design I’m not sure if there’s still a connector inside for it.

The minor shape differences in the cases don't matter they are considered to be the same type.. OBD1. Both still have the J3 port on the rear where a chip, tuner, or factory diagnostic tool would attach.
A chip won't add any performance you can't get for free by just advancing the timing, so for that it's money wasted.
