i just put my everything out of my 88 into my 83 f150 my 88 had 2 gas tanks and my 83 only has one so ive got an extra plug on my wiring harness for the fuel pump i dont know if this being unplugged would cause the front tank not to work. but its not working when i turn the key on the relay clicks but no fuel if i ground the wire on the DLC it works. has anyone else had a problem like this
We can try to get this on the road. What I read is that you
are trying to get gas? and the 83 has only one tank? What
engine and if carbed? pump on the engine or in the tank?
What is DLC?
yes im trying to get gas.. i put the fuel injected 302 out of my 88 f150 into the 83 and every thing was fine when it was in the 88 i just put the wiring harness computer dash and everything into the 83.. the only problem i got is i cant get fuel unless i short the fuel pump wire on the data link connecter.. the fuel pump relay clicks when i turn the key on. theres no power at either fuel pump with just the key on though
fordzrule, I had a similar problem on my 86', it's carbuerated so I don't know if it will work for you. What I had to do is run a direct wire from the battery to the tank selector switch. (alternate power source)
