Battery degradation.
Top left shows my Ford Lightning traction battery is at 99.5% State of Health aka capacity, from when it was new. Next number to the right shows the battery is 20.5 months old. So it only degraded 0.5% in 20.5 months.
Previously, I owned several Nissan Leaf’s. The Leafs didn’t have any cooling or heating of the traction battery to keep the cost low. But without battery conditioning the batteries had a tendency to degrade. Many early Leafs are receiving warranty batteries due to degradation during the 7 year warranty period. Many are even being bought back due to degraded batteries. Tesla and Ford learned from this and it seems that battery degradation in their cars are VERY slow.
