I never had the money to buy all new tires before. I sometimes bought one used tire as needed. Once I bought two new tires. Early spring and autumn are apparently the best times to buy. My tires are 12 and 15 years old.
I don't mess around when it comes to tires, seeing all the damage it can cause when they blow out. Especially on my trailers, change them out at 5-6 years, and bearings at least every other year.
got the boat out for the first time this year over the weekend. have decided i need to go EOH brakes for the trailer. boat is right at the very top of the rated weight for the trailer, and braking lacks big time. currently has single-axle surge disc, so hopefully won't need much besides the pump, a breakaway setup, and a rigid coupler. still looking like i'd have $1000+ into it.
I put eoh on my last camper, huge improvement over lippert junk electric brakes. My current Dexter axle stuff stops pretty good but will go this route once it wears out.
Hope everyone is well. FTE wouldn't load at work the last couple months, but seems to be back. We bought a '16 Explorer for my wife the end of last year and had to put a transmission in it 6,000 miles later. Has been a a great summer since, with a successful family UP trip and some great boat days. Truck is due for tires before the snow flies, and so far I haven't seen anything to change my mind about going with Cooper Rugged Treks again (currently at 57,000 miles).
Still doesn't seem real about Mike. Think about that often.
Holy pricey, my cost is $263 and retail is about $338 from my supplier. Not including install.
Yeah they were $265 at Belle last time I bought them in 2021. I'll definitely keep your cost in mind, we'll see if any rebate deals come available closer to black Friday.
