Hey guys, im 16, and just got an '84 150 4x4, 33" Wild Country's, Warn Hubs, 300 straight 6, full body and suspension lift. anyways, i know my spedometer is off because of thetires, but i dont know how much..... is there a way to adjust my speddometer to my tires or will i have to buy a certain product to fix it.... thanks for the help!
You could always speed past a cop, keep an eye on your speedometer, and when he pulls you over you'll find out how fast you were REALLY going.
Sorry, I just had to. Okay, kidding aside you shouldn't be off by much at all with 33" tires. If you are concerned about it just stop by your local Ford shop. Give them your tire diameter, diff gear ratio, etc. and they'll be able to calculate which speedometer gear you need. It only takes a few minutes to put it in and it will correct the difference.
here is a link i thought you might find useful! http://tyres1.com/calculators.html it has some pretty cool calculators for tire speed, gear ratio, etc!
5 mph would be all that your truck would be off!
also, alot of GPS units these days have a mph setting and will tell you how fast you are walking/driving/biking! It is very accurate!
and one other way i have found is by driving by a police speedo trailer they use to slow ppl down w/o actually pulling them over!
