Has anyone installed a high-idle switch on their new truck yet? Practical uses or will the truck manage the need to idle-up on it's own. My brother has a 21 Ram and it can high-idle with the cruise control settings while stationary, pretty neat factory feature.
I use mine all the time. The lowest setting is about 900 RPM and will let you adjust all the way up to around 3000. Easy install, except for locating the PTO pigtail behind the glove box. What a pain that was! PTT w/Arod has a video about it and shows roughly where that pigtail is.

the most practical use for me is that in addition to controlling the idle speed, it is a hardware switch to disable the retarded auto engine shutdown.
without the high idle mod, you have to go into settings to disable the automatic engine shutoff that occurs after 15 or 30 min (configurable to a max of 30 min).
additionally, the automatic engine shutdown will re-enable itself after a key off cycle ***OR*** you use the bed mounted 120v plugs.
the high idle mod bypasses all the above auto engine shutdown crap.

I drive International straight trucks, 24' box for a USPS contractor as a part time retirement gig. Those trucks have had this feature for years on both the International and Cummins engined trucks.
I agree that it seems like a sensible and easy to use feature to have.
