Has anyone here had experience with the factory temp gauge in a mid-70's F-series going bad? Although my cooling system seems to be working perfectly after replacing most of it, the temp gauge is still, at times, climbing way too high. Not all the time, not always to the same place. Enough to be annoying, though.
Sender, stat, pump, radiator, hoses, and coolant are all new, and normal operating temp on another gauge is showing 180-ish (with a 180 degree t-stat), and a thermometer in the filler neck of the radiator is showing about 170, so the truck itself does not seem to be overheating or running hot.
