Softtopper + bed rack thoughts

https://softopper.com/products/softo...u=SO-SD80O-GSR

Adding a soft top soon for sleeping in remote work sites I cant take my TT to. It has to be a soft top so I can retract for carrying pumps, membranes, bioreactors, etc. I also need a bed rack for hauling in pvc piping that the soft top will fit under with out interference. Floods and spots will go on the rack for work site lighting.

I have a 2015 F250 Supercab with 6.8 bed. Is anyone using a set up such as this? Pics, thoughts, ideas, tips, tricks, and any general information is greatly appreciated.

I'd use a rollback or sectional hardtop in your situation.

Hi, we have a soft topper and love its ability to retract, but two caveats- 1) if you get one with side windows it’s best to remove those but they need to be stored flat per mfgr’s suggestion, and 2) this one didn’t stay retracted above 65 mph, ask me how I know.
Install day, very little change to my blood pressure- LoL

Straps in foreground are for cinching the rolled up rear panel.

Straps at the head of the bed are for securing the retracted frame in the “open” position. Don’t drive above 65 mph as the straps don’t readily offer a way to ratchet or maintain tension.

This is the frame collapsed with cover still in place, side and rear panel windows removed and stored flat.

Thanks for posting. I had been considering getting a soft topper. Does your soft topper have any window screens ? The weblink does not mention window screens, so I took that as a no.

Not that I have come across- would be a great option, though.

I first bought a soft topper in 2017 for my 08 sierra which i still have and then bought my 17 f150 which it fit as well. This thing is great no issues and holds a lot of snow and with do a fair speed and still stay together. I see your is made from access hence the windows. Original soft toppers do have a screen kit for the rear window and fold down flat below the window and are only sold by soft topper out of Colorado.
