I have an 85 F350, has had a turn signal switch that was feeling kinda loose. It would blink for right turn but left turn I had to wiggle it to get it to work. So I replaced the switch, right still works, left not at all. Another thing that is off is the reverse lights are now lit, seems like the switch is the issue but it is a new switch.

A rabbi, a priest, and a nun walk into a bar…
If you’re going to tell jokes, so am I.
The symptoms changed with a new part. Most likely the new part is bad from stock, or something went wrong during the installation. If you determine the new switch is bad, be sure to get a replacement from a different source. Don’t go back to the same vendor in case they have another switch from the same defective batch sitting on the shelf.

Any ideas?
Look at this as two different problems. The reverse lights have nothing to do with the turn/brake lights electrically. Now if you messed with the column linkage while changing the turn switch, then that could be a problem with the reverse lights. Play with the shifter lever while watching the reverse lights.

You have a good point, Dave. But if you comb your hair differently, nobody will notice.
(pause for laughter to die down)
Back to those reverse lights. When is the last time you confirmed they were switching on/off properly? Or is this something you just noticed while working on the turn signals? For all we know, they may have been like that for a while.

I ran out of hair to comb a long time ago. Now if I can get rid of this shaving thing, life would be good.
